News is so watered down. the truth is always either buried or avoided.
This is my opinion of the US media: celebrities, scapegoat stories, the fact that today's youth could care less and simply melds with the brainwashing capitalism of it all. It sickens me, so much that i don't even bother with the damn media.
Now to practice what i preach: anybody know a good foreign/independant news outlet??
I know for sure i'm gonna start with Punk Voter for now.
It is hard to trust the media. It's even more annoying when people like Michael Moore make documentaries to show how untrustworthy the media is by doing exactly what Fox does - showing clips and conversations taken out of context, or basically just making stuff up. I got an A in my Theory of Knowledge class (like modern philosophy or whatever) for a presentation we threw together for a parent night at school. The best thing to do, really, is to research current topics through as many sources as possible, even when it can be a pain in the ass.
Yay for independant thought, though .

Hey, I might be bugging you, but here's something that caught my interest a while ago: [link] You've probably heard of it, but, whatever.
The site itself does try to be a little sensational, so keep an open mind, but they do have a lot of sources.

Hahaha, awesome picture. Microns and pencil? Looks great.
So true--we're running out of reliable resources, aren't we? Oh, and Fox news makes me want to cry sometimes.
I'm pretty fond of BBC News. Hooray for global concerns, national news (and especially state-based news, y'know?) tends to bore the hell out of me. Also, BBC for its little online radio stations. eee.

Liberal talk radio. They actually talk about things the Bush administration doesn't want you to hear. Things that the newspaper either choose to ignore or burry in the back of section A or B where no one bothers to read. It is a good thing to hold you over until you find a good foriegn news source. Also PBS and NPR, for the most part, actually provide balanced news. Just remember that not all media is bad in this country. Only 95% of it is bad (which is horrible). It just takes time and some digging to find a media source that is actually good and doesn't pussy-foot around the truth.
And about the youth not caring, sadly it is true. But it's not just the youth. It is ALL of America. The majority of us simply don't give a damn sadly. If they did, there would have been an uprising against the current administration a long time ago.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

Nicely done. The mask makes it even more menacing.
